The public is invited to learn about the eruptive events of Kilauea Volcano during a presentation by a USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory geologist later this week.

“Kilauea Volcano’s East Rift and summit eruptions: Events of the past year” will be presented by geologist Matt Patrick at 7 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 7) in UCB Room 100 on the University of Hawaii at Hilo campus.

The presentation will offer information about the volcano’s ongoing East Rift Zone and summit eruptions. The discussion — part of HVO’s Volcano Awareness Month events — is free and open to the public.

More information can be found at the HVO website (hvo.wr.usgs.gov) or by emailing the observatory at askHVO@usgs.gov or calling 967-8844.
